Early Years Foundation Stage
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), which supports children's care and education from birth to 5 (the end of the school Reception year). The EYFS Statutory Framework sets out the standards that we follow to ensure your children are well cared for, safe and have a stimulating, learning environment. For help and information about what to expect with children's learning and development take a look at the helpful booklet 'What to Expect in the EYFS' which you can find here.
We value all children as individuals. We recognise the need for
children to learn through their own independent play in conjunction
with supportive adult guided activities. We have excellent outdoor
spaces which the children enjoy in all weathers.
More information on the EYFS and how we follow it, see the resources here:
School preparation
We have close links with Dursley CofE Primary Academy. Our children are able to become familiar with the staff and school environment, including regular visits to the school and Reception classes during the summer term.
Learning through play
All children are valued as individuals with their own unique interests, learning styles and abilities. Staff support children to develop their skills and confidence through play.
Keeping a learning journey
We use a secure, online learning journey platform called Tapestry to upload photos of your son/daughter taking part in activities and you can include photos and comments from home too.
